It is either surprising to learn that local candidates has not been examined and this fact has influenced the statistics of the Hongkong Police Fund, which, as Mr Young points out (14962) are very peculiar.
It is not clear from this despatch whether the medical examination held in connection to entry to the service or to entry to the Police Fund. I think that the Colony should be told that all cases should be medically examined.
